As Cosgrove marks her 3rd year anniversary, the company is proud to have handed over the first set of Smart Homes to homeowners in Abuja.
The Chairman, Cosgrove Investment Limited, Mr Umar Abdullahi says owners of Cosgrove Homes whilst having basic package automation in their homes are be able to upgrade the smart features of their technology-driven homes. He further reiterated that that homes developed by Cosgrove are not only compliant with latest technology-in-use at the time of developing the homes, but are also designed to accommodate upgrades to new technologies that will emerge long after the houses were built.
Mr Abdullahi, who gave the assurance when the organization delivered the first set of Smart Homes to clients in Abuja on Saturday, said Cosgrove will remain committed to the corporate values of integrity and technological innovation while leveraging on the strength of youth and team work to ensure that set goals are achieved.
Recalling the humble beginning of Cosgrove, the Chairman said: “We thank God for being on our side from the beginning till date,” he said, adding that Cosgrove started operations in November 2017, as a team of youthful entrepreneurs with a dream and a strong value proposition for the industry.
“At the time, the team agreed on a unique plan of action but we had little or no capital, but our strength was in the experience and integrity of the team and of the people who made up the team,” he said adding that they include experienced and committed professionals who continue to distinguished themselves in their respective careers in related fields.”
“I would say that delivering the first set of homes in three years is remarkable, however, in a bid to comply Covid 19 protocols, we shall postpone our celebrations for a later date he said, and thanked the clients for giving Cosgrove the opportunity to build for them.
The Chairman who disclosed that Cosgrove is simultaneously developing four Smart Estates in premium locations of the FCT said the organization aims to deliver no less than one thousand homes to subscribers in the next few years, adding that the construction is at various stages of progress across the estates.
“Wuye Smart Estate is fully completed and delivered. Our Katampe and Mabushi estates are also in progress; The Chateaux is the latest of the projects and work is in good progress.
The Chairman said: “Cosgrove is three now (November, 2020), and I have the honor to inform you that we would not have come so far, so beautiful, without the confidence reposed on us by the global public, he said, adding that ‘the public is our major stakeholder and we will remain committed to sustaining set standards.”
Discussing another star feature of Cosgrove homes, he explained that the company deployed the Building Information Modelling (BIM) process in all its estates, adding that irrespective of the demands of software licensing, the organization is abreast of latest developments in BIM process and other innovations in construction.
“Through Research and Development, Cosgrove Builders and Engineers are abreast of innovations in the industry and we are very update with software licensing.”
Discussing how BIM process is impacting the value of the Cosgrove brand, the multiple award-winning CEO: “Globally speaking, the future of construction industry will be based on Building Information Modeling process, and Cosgrove embraced the innovation from the moment the organization was founded because we know that it is one of the things we must do to build houses that are safe and secure by deploying innovative techniques.”
“In reality, BIM has to do with digital representation of the project before it is executed, this means that project can be executed virtually first, such that all clashes and design errors will be discovered and resolved at the planning stage, before commencement of construction.”
Further explaining the benefits of BIM, the CEO said: “This innovative system guarantees the construction of error-free structures, and as an organization with zero tolerance for lapses and inaccuracy, Cosgrove was the first to embrace it in Nigeria, and we are happy that we have sustained our values irrespective of the responsibility of software-licensing associated with innovative tools in the industry.”
Discussing some major goals, Chairman of the multiple award-winning Smart Homes developer said: “Within the period under review, Cosgrove secured the construction of a multi-billion Naira housing estate for the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas cooperative society, a development that signaled the commencement of the realization of Cosgrove’s policy to build for corporate bodies and institutions.”
The estate will be delivered to the NLNG-coop in months.
He said apart from sustaining the reputation of delivering projects within specified timelines, the NLNG-coop housing estate being developed by Cosgrove is “another signature project” of the organization.
