Immediate past governor of Gombe state, Ibrahim Dankwambo, has condemned governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state display during the APC rally in Kogi state.
El-Rufai caused drama when he went on his knees before the crowd that had gathered at the rally venue to hear Governor Bello’s campaign promises ahead of the election.
Dankwambo wondered how easy it was to beg for a governor who owes up to 30 months salary. “How do you beg for forgiveness for a governor owing 30 months salaries and who cannot point to one project in four years?” He asked.
Hajia Aisha, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, also appealed to the people of Kogi to forgive Bello over unpaid salaries. You’ll never be president of Nigeria.
In her plea during the rally, Aisha Buhari had told the residents to forgive and forget any wrong Governor Yahaya Bello may have committed during his first term in office. Aisha had told the residents that the verification exercise organised for civil servants in the state was the reason why the Governor Yahaya Bello was unable to pay salaries for some time.
She said kogi residents will not be disappointed if they vote for the incumbent governor following the president’s intervention regarding the payment of salaries in the state.
