Jude Idada, the latest winner of Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) prize has described his victory as a prize for all those who competed with him and those suffering from sickle cell anaemia.
Idada won the NLNG Nigeria Prize for Literature yesterday evening at Transcorp Hilton Hotel during their anniversary ball and awards ceremony, 2019.
Idada was lucky this time around having been a finalist two times previously until this third time that he won.
An elated Idada described his success as a victory for all writers and those suffering from sickle cell anaemia, his inspiration for the book. He said,
“My co-writers on the shortlist and longlist, including every one who submitted and others who write,
“We won it. The warriors who battle Sickle Cell Anaemia. And everyone out there who in their small and big way fights to end the scourge; editors, family, friends, everyone who reads me, everyone who supports me and everyone who allows me into their lives, I can do nothing without you all”, he said
Boom Boom is the title of the book with which Idada became the winner the NLNG Nigeria Prize for Literature 2019!
