Taraba state governor, arc. Darius Ishaku and his Benue state counterpart, governor Samuel Ortom on Tuesday meet in Abuja to discuss on how to find lasting solution to the ongoing lingering crisis between the Tiv and Junkun people in Taraba state.
Ishaku and his Benue state counterpart, Samuel Ortom meet with critical stakeholders at the Yar’Adua Centre to find a lasting solution to the Tiv/Jukun crisis.
The meeting which was being hosted by the Taraba State Governor, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku would also have in attendance, Gov Samuel Ortom of Benue State.
Many other eminent personalities, including traditional rulers and political leaders from the two states were also invited to the meeting.
Among them are federal and state legislators, speakers of the state houses of assembly, security chiefs, other prominent sons and daughters, representatives of youth groups and of the Tiv in Taraba State.
The meeting was a follow up to other similar efforts by Gov Ishaku and his Benue State counterpart in the recent past which included numerous visits to the affected communities to preach peace and meetings of stakeholders leading to peace accords that were not obeyed.
