The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN) has told Justice Nkeonye Maha of the Federal High Court, Abuja, that the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheik Ibrahim El-Zakzaky has Iranian government’s support to islamise Nigeria.
In a counter-affidavit the AGF filed on behalf the federal government against El-Zakzaky’s application challenging the Federal High Court’s order of July 26 outlawing the IMN, Malami alleged that the group’s agenda is to turn Nigeria into an Islamic State.
At the resumption of proceedings in the matter on Wednesday, Justice Maha who earlier handed down the proscription order, slated September 11, 2019 for the hearing of the application filed by El-Zakzaky’s counsel, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN).
