Taraba state governor, Arc. Darius Ishaku on Sunday urged the people of Taraba state to use the opportunity of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration to reconcile with friends, neighbours and to re-dedicate ourselves to the pursuit of peace which is the most critical need of the state.
Ishaku, who stated this in Jalingo during his live broadcast to mark this year’s Eid- EL-Kabir Celebration said the people of the state must resolve to support the efforts of government to ensure lasting peace in the state. “No sacrifice is too much for this to be achieved.
My good people of Taraba State, let me also seize the opportunity of this Sallah celebration to restate my commitment to work with the adherents of all religions in the state to achieve peace”
According to him, there can be no development without peace, adding that his administration will continue to provide the enabling atmosphere for the adherents of all religions to practice the faith of their choice freely as enshrined and guaranteed bythe constitution.
He maintained that his administration has consistently synergized and engaged with the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, and the Muslim groups to ensure that peace reigns among the inhabitants of the state.
“I’m glad that this synergy has immensely assisted our people to find religious fulfillment” he added
