Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum has approved the appointment of five special advisers, a Deputy Chief of staff who is to head the deputy governor’s office and a senior special assistant.
In an updated statement issued Friday in Maiduguri, the Special Adviser on Public Relations and Strategy, Malam Isa Gusau, announced the appointments of Abba Kawu Abubakar Garbai, Hon. Zannah Abubakar Jabu, Mohammad Auwal Hamzah, Engr. Hon. Lawan Abba Wakilbe and Alhaji Zarma Mustapha Bamus as Special Advisers with Alhaji Haruna Hassan Tela as deputy chief of staff. The Governor also appointed Mr Lanre Obadiah as a Senior Special Assistant.
Gusau explained that while Obadiah’s appointment takes immediate effect, the five advisers and deputy chief of staff are to be sworn-in at a date to be communicated soon.
The statement said all the appointees were chosen after careful evaluation of their individual track records and expertise. Governor Zulum, he added, is confident that the appointees will in the course of work, prove themselves through competence, selfless commitment, patriotism and the fear of God.
